Stour

Stour (formerly Stour Marine) approached us to modernise their brand and digital presence.

Stour needed a confident, visual identity that could stretch across all platforms including uniforms, business cards and presentations. Alongside the brand work, we tackled a complete overhaul of their existing website, building a sharp, minimal site that puts the user first.

PROBLEM

The original brand and site no longer reflected the company they had become. The “Marine” in their name had started to lead people down the wrong path, implying something aquatic — when in reality, the business had moved far beyond those early roots.

While the website did function, Like many fast-growing businesses, the site had become outdated and difficult to manage. The design wasn’t delivering their message justice. Stour needed an online presence which was confident.

SOLUTION

Within a 2 day branding workshop, we began with a bold rebrand, simplifying the name to Stour and creating a vibrant, shield-style ‘S’ emblem. The mark was designed to work just as well on screen as it does on uniforms, stationery and merchandise.

Using our new tool, Squareforge, we were able to prototype and build the new site in under a week. Working closely with the Stour team, we got direct feedback at each stage, keeping them involved in the design decisions and fine-tuning things in real time. The result is a sleek, professional, minimal website that gets straight to the point. As a part of the wider rebrand, we created a full suite of supporting materials. This included business cards, letterheads, and PowerPoint decks.
