Mobile friendly websites get Google boost

So it is now official, after months of hinting at this, Google have now confirmed that mobile friendly websites will have a significant ranking boost when you search using a mobile device. The change has come into effect earlier this month and this is what google have to say:

Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.
